You were never not enough

Why a diamond and a lump of coal are the same thing/

Welcome. I am so glad you are here.

Before the first lesson lands next week, I want to take a moment to tell you what this is, why I built it, and what you can expect from me every week from here on.

Let me start with the idea that the whole thing rests on. A diamond and a lump of coal are exactly the same element. Carbon. Identical ingredient. The only difference between the thing we burn and the thing we treasure is pressure and time. And I think that is true of people too. The doubt, the knock backs, the rooms where you felt you did not belong, you have been taught to read all of it as evidence that you are not quite enough. It was never evidence. It was formation. You have been becoming a diamond the whole time. The problem is, nobody told you.

So consider this me telling you.

Here is a little about why I care about this so much. I spent 25 years in the technology industry. I built and led teams that scaled businesses to over a billion dollars in global revenue, and I have written two books. But I did not start with a blueprint. Nobody handed me the right school, the right network or the right accent. I was regularly told, in big and small ways, that I was not quite the right fit. I built everything anyway. Along the way, I turned what I learned into frameworks people now use in their real careers, one clear tool at a time. That is what I am going to hand you.

This series is called Always Be A Diamond, and it runs in three parts.

First, Diamond Confidence. The inner work. How to take apart the beliefs that were never yours, and build a confidence that is substance, not performance.

Then, Diamond Connections. How to take everything you have built out into the world. How to walk into any room as yourself, build relationships that actually last, and connect without performing, because your network really is your net worth.

And finally, Diamond Leadership. This one starts with leading yourself, and you do not need to manage anyone, or even want to, to benefit from it. It is about building the skills and capability to lead others when you are ready, because the final work of a diamond is helping other people find theirs.

Every lesson works exactly the same way, and I am telling you the recipe upfront so you can hold me to it. One story, one tool, and one thing to do that week. Around ten minutes. No jargon, no corporate waffle, no telling you to manifest anything. Just the truth about worth, and something practical you can use before the day is out.

Who is it for? Anyone who has ever shrunk their own light to make a room more comfortable. Anyone who deflects the compliment, lets someone else say their idea first, or discounts their own price before anyone else gets the chance. If any of that landed, you are in the right place.

Here is what I believe about you, and I believe it before we have even properly met. You were never not enough. You were conditioned to think you were, and anything taught can be untaught.

Next week we begin with the story of one of the best nights of my career and the man who tried to ruin it. I will see you then.

See your worth, know your value, and always, always be a diamond.
